A white bookcase is a great solution if you want to securely store your literature collection and avoid any risk to it. But what kind of design is chosen, how much it meets the needs of the customer, is of great importance. It is quite easy not to make a fatal mistake - you just need to familiarize yourself with the information about this product and its variants.

Features and models

Cabinets with glazed hinged doors are widespread. The dignity is quite obvious - through them it will be possible to see your entire collection, therefore, if it is unique or very valuable to you personally, this is perhaps the best option. The systematization and arrangement of publications is facilitated, and then the search for the right one among them is also accelerated. Such products immediately add coziness and grace to any room.

Glassware is also attractive from other points of view:

  • The furniture is closed and dust is reliably prevented from entering.
  • Containment of sunlight (bindings and covers will not turn yellow longer, as will individual pages).
  • It is convenient to enjoy the view of your home library without opening the closet, or to show it to someone else.
  • Already on the way, you can quickly navigate where the desired tome is.
  • The space in the room is significantly increased.
  • If you want to choose the hinged narrow version, there will be no problem.

Buyers are not at all limited in their choice and may also prefer an angled or straight version, varying it in height, style and color. Depending on personal taste, doors are of both "compartment" and swing type.

With all their advantages, cabinets with glass doors also have a number of disadvantages:

  • It is very easy to leave fingerprints and other dirt, and they are difficult to remove.
  • The cost of glazed products is quite high.
  • The ability to display your collection of books translates into the need to spend additional funds to saturate it with editions in catchy, noticeable bindings.

If the decision to purchase a glazed cabinet is solid and final, you need to understand the details of its device. For example, swinging doors are quite popular because they are very easy to open. Most often, special magnets are used to prevent spontaneous opening. Doors with locks and a sealing strip around the perimeter are also used, which completely excludes the ingress of dust.

The compartment format is attractive in that you do not need to touch the glass itself, it is complemented by panels made of wood or plastic, to which the handles are already attached. This solution differs favorably and stylistically (an obvious disadvantage is that part of the surface is opaque).

But it is quite difficult to use hinged doors, since they are of little use when glazed. Regardless of the design chosen, special types of glass are used in such cabinets, which effectively carry a large load, and if they break, they do not give small fragments.

Accommodation options in the interior

To make the bookcase look attractive in the interior, you should not only select the piece of furniture itself, but also figure out where it is best to put it, in which room and even part of the room. Near the wall, it is permissible to use both narrow and wide cabinets, the only condition is to be able to display all the necessary literature in them. A wall, curbstones, sofas or soft armchairs are placed next to it.

For corners of small rooms, corner cabinets are preferable, which absorb little space, allowing you to put a large amount of books on the shelves. At the request of the customer, elements that increase functionality are used. It is more appropriate to occupy the center of the room with a display case with circular glass walls - this will allow to delimit the monolithic space into blocks. It is undesirable to put the first option in the middle, and the second to the wall, keep in mind this moment (and the fact that "showcases" are attractive only in spacious rooms).

Having dealt with the doors of the white cabinet, it remains to find out its other necessary parameters. So, low products are suitable for those who do not have a significant library, they will serve as an excellent stand for other interior elements. Bleached oak testifies to the fact that furniture owners have a delicate and sophisticated aesthetic taste. The furnishings at the same time become laconic and light, tunes in to the positive and does not diminish the elegance. The classics are quite appropriate in living rooms, in children's rooms, in bedrooms, even in home offices.

Some people are repelled by the imaginary difficulty of choosing combinations for a white cabinet. According to the designers, it is compatible (by the principle of contrast) with black, red and blue interior details; good combinations are possible with gold and silver decor, carved elements.

The disadvantage of natural wood, which outweighs all its advantages, is the high price. The severity, unsuitability in a small volume, difficult care also scares off consumers. The way out is often the use of MDF, which can be given a variety of textures, including gloss, reproducing the aesthetic features of other materials.

It is unacceptable to use it where contact with water is likely or where high humidity is observed. Particleboard is interesting for its low cost and wide aesthetic range, but it wears out too quickly.

The choice of white is appropriate in a wide variety of interiors. Lovers of antique style should prefer cabinets of a simplified design without a single sharp corner, with as smooth lines as possible. In a classic room, it is much more correct to put furniture that emphasizes the solid atmosphere and grandeur, the aesthetic tastes of the owners - only without being overloaded with small details.

Lacquer is inappropriate when the wardrobe is placed in a loft-style living room. All volumetric models are incompatible with it, but compact options (or put on wheels) will fit perfectly. Again, small design elements in this style are unnatural. Any white cabinets with Gothic, African interiors are categorically incompatible; this combination gives a feeling of strange eclecticism, sometimes even vulgarity and bad taste. There is no need to be afraid of dusting - with proper care, it cannot appear.
