The pink floribunda group has an extensive collection in its family, and Out of Rosenheim has not yet taken its rightful place in it, but a bright future awaits it. This variety has a powerful bush, stable and abundant flowering, intense color and impressive appearance, is known for its unpretentiousness and endurance.

Breeding history of the variety

The originators of the variety are breeders of the Kordes company from Germany. The variety was registered in 2010.

Description of the variety

Rosebushes of the Out of Rosenheim variety are able to keep flowering for a long time even in persistent bad weather, without losing the attractiveness and the number of inflorescences, the intensity of the shades. The variety has compact bushes with average performance:

  • height 80-90 cm;

  • the average diameter is 40 cm.

The foliage of the bushes is above average, which is why they have an attractive shape, close to spherical. Strong and straight shoots with few thorns, covered with dark green foliage with a leathery surface and jagged edges. The surface of the elongated sheet plate is smooth and glossy.

Advantages and disadvantages

The rose has numerous advantages, because of which it is gaining more and more popularity.

  • A wide range of applications in landscape design.

  • Compactness, which allows you to use it as a background for the "giants" of the world of roses.

  • Unpretentiousness and endurance, thanks to which it is grown in the south and in temperate latitudes.

  • Strong immunity, protecting it from almost all diseases, even under stable unfavorable conditions.

  • Long-lasting, abundant and repeated blooming, the ability to hold the flower and its shades in all conditions.

The disadvantages include the presence of thorns, although this is characteristic of the entire culture. Gardeners do not note other disadvantages.

Flowering features

The variety has remarkably long flowering periods and an abundant cover of the bush with medium-sized (8-9 cm) flowers. The latter are collected in inflorescences of 3-5 flowers and look like ready-made bouquets. The color of the petals has a rich classic red color, which can be called carmine. Abundant and powerful flowering begins in mid-summer and continues with continuous bud formation until the end of autumn. Densely double flowers are cupped and have a large number of petals: 50-55 pcs. The aroma is almost subtle, but there are hints of spice in it.

Use in landscape design

Due to the density of compact and low bushes, they create magnificent border plantations. Rosa Out of Rosenheim can serve as both a soloist and an excellent companion in group plantings. It perfectly decorates the foot of climbing roses or tall perennial flowers and shrubs.

Growing regions

The versatility of the variety in this regard allows it to be grown in zone 6 of the USDA, where winter temperatures drop from -18 to -23ºC, however, it is found in gardens in zones 7 and 8, where it thrives. The plant tolerates heat and temperate climate very well. Flowers do not fade in the hot sun and do not deteriorate from rain.

Landing

For planting, you should choose a place with good lighting.The variety grows well and develops on fertile chernozem soils with neutral acidity. The soil is enriched with organic matter (humus, compost, manure), mineral complex fertilizers, coarse river sand and peat are applied. Optimum planting density: 4 to 5 bushes per square meter. For the good development of the rose, the earth must be loose and breathable; a drainage layer is arranged at the bottom of the planting pit.

Growing and care

After planting, caring for the rose consists of standard procedures. An unpretentious and hardy variety does not require any special measures.

  • Watering. Young plants need regular moisture, but mature shrubs are watered as needed. Irrigation is carried out at the root, although the leaves tolerate contact with water well. After the top watering, stains and streaks from dusty streaks may remain on the leaves, which reduces the level of decorativeness of the bush. Ideally, drip irrigation should be organized for group plantings.

  • Weeding, mulching and loosening. Weeding is a must because it removes the crop from the weeds. Loosening helps to avoid the formation of an earth crust after irrigation and contributes to the saturation of the soil with oxygen. A layer of mulch in the root circle prevents excessive evaporation of moisture and active growth of weeds.

  • Top dressing. Like all roses, Out of Rosenheim loves manure, so throughout the season it is fed with mullein infusion. In addition, the introduction of mineral fertilizers is mandatory:

    • early spring - nitrogen preparations;

    • midsummer - potassium-phosphorus compositions;

    • autumn - potassium and organic matter.

  • Pruning. Sanitary pruning is carried out in early spring, before the start of sap flow, and in late autumn, at the end of sap flow. During the procedure, old, crooked, damaged shoots and late basal shoots are cut out and removed, which do not have time to mature before the onset of the dormant period. During the formative pruning, they monitor the beautiful and neat outline of the bush; in the spring, adult shoots are shortened by 10-15 cm.

While preparing for winter, the rose needs shelter in a temperate zone. In the southern regions, an air cap is sufficient to prevent wetting and drying out during prolonged rains and sudden temperature changes. In the conditions of the middle strip, spruce branches and geotextiles are thrown over the air shelter.

Diseases and pests

Strong immunity provided the variety with excellent health. Rose is excellent against powdery mildew, black spot and other diseases. The fight against pests such as aphids, bronzes, spider mites and others is carried out using insecticides. As a rule, parasites have little or no interest in this rose.

Reproduction

The rose is propagated in several ways. These are cuttings, growing from seeds, dividing an adult bush and grafting. The simplest and most effective way is vegetative. Cuttings 10-15 cm long are cut from the ripened shoots of the current year. The upper flexible part of the stem is unsuitable for grafting. The lower cut is made oblique in relation to the stem, the upper should be straight. The leaves are shortened by two-thirds to avoid moisture evaporation. The cuttings are treated with root formation stimulants and planted in a greenhouse with neutral soil. This is a mixture of disinfected river sand, peat or vermiculite. Cuttings need daily ventilation, the soil should be moist.

To carry out the grafting, there must be a scion and a suitable bush.

Dividing an adult bush is the least successful way. Few people want to disturb the grown bush, to which a lot of strength and love have been given, this is fraught with the death of all deeds.

Getting a rose from seed is a lengthy and ineffective process. This will require many months of stratification.
