Breeding history of the variety

The rose was introduced into cultivation by specialists of the French nursery Meilland Richardier in 2008.

Description of the variety

The variety is hybrid tea, with large flowers. The buds are dark pink. As they dissolve, they become lighter, with a salmon tint. The color of the petals is bright.

The corolla is cupped, goblet at the budding stage, romantic in shape. Fully blossoming flower reaches a diameter of 12-13 cm, has a densely double structure with 80-90 petals, tightly gathered around the center.

Roses on the stems are located singly. The flowers have a strong and vibrant scent. By its composition, it is close to the scent of a May rose.

The bushes of the Arthur Rimbaud variety are vigorous, with straight, strong stems. The average height of the bush reaches 90-110 cm, width 0.7 m. The leaves are medium, green, with a semi-matte surface.

Advantages and disadvantages

Arthur Rimbaud fully justifies his status as one of the main romantic roses of modern breeding. The main advantage is the beauty of the buds and blossoming flowers, the delicate refined color of the petals, the refined shape of the corolla. Also, the advantages include a high growth rate of shoots, the bush is formed within 1 year after planting. This variety is especially effective when cut, due to the long graceful stems and large flowers it is possible to create a harmonious bouquet.

The downsides are also quite obvious. Despite the love of light, this rose is susceptible to petals baking in the heat. In the rain, they also suffer from water droplets, becoming covered with noticeable spots, losing their decorative effect.

Flowering features

Arthur Rimbaud rose bushes are in bloom from June to September, until the very frost. The buds are very abundant. The variety is re-flowering.

Use in landscape design

Strong shoots maintain a beautiful shape, and green foliage favorably sets off delicate buds. Also, the variety is good in the design of border plantings, framing paths and paths, it is easily combined with bulbous and perennial plants of other species.

Growing regions

Arthur Rimbaud is an absolutely unpretentious variety of roses. It can be planted in almost any region of Russia.

The soil structure is preferable to be loose, moisture-consuming. The optimal planting density is 4 plants per 1 m 2, the scheme is 40 × 50 cm.

Growing and caring

Roses require a standard list of agrotechnical measures. Due to its unpretentiousness, this variety successfully tolerates rare watering, needs minimal dressing. By creating favorable conditions for it, you can enjoy abundant and lush bloom for most of the warm season.

Review overview

Rose Arthur Rimbaud was declared by the originators from France as a variety that is not demanding on growing conditions. Judging by the reviews of summer residents, he fully justifies this characteristic. The bushes very quickly reach a height of 1 m, show excellent endurance in dry weather and heavy rainfall. The shape of the flowers is also highly appreciated, and the exquisite scent is absolutely enchanting both in the garden and in bouquets. It is noted that under favorable conditions, plants are very resistant to disease, and hard foliage is unattractive to insects.

Experienced gardeners are somewhat disappointed by the color of the petals. It is considered boring, not too original for "Meeyans", while appreciated for the abundant formation of buds on the bush. Summer residents also note the importance of choosing the right place for this rose. In dry and high areas in bright sun, the bush feels better than in lowlands or in the shade.
