It is not for nothing that the rose is considered the queen in the world of flowers. This is a plant of amazing beauty, which for many centuries has attracted attention with a variety of colors, aromas and shapes. Each variety is individual in its own way and has its own requirements for cultivation. An example of such a plant would be the rose Amulet.

Description of the variety

Rose Amulet belongs to the ground cover group. The varied purpose has played an important role in the popularity of the variety. The flower is used for both group and single plantings. It is grown in flower beds, and is chosen as an element for a living composition. The rose looks great when planted in small groups. Many gardeners grow the Cut Amulet.

The color of the flower is deep pink. The color is bright and uniform along the entire length of the petals. The shape of the bud can be rosette or spherical. The size of the flower is average, and the diameter does not exceed 4-6 centimeters. Due to the large number of petals (from 45 to 64 petals), the type of bud is considered to be densely doubled. Flowers are formed in inflorescences, and from 10 to 15 pieces grow on one stem.

The bushes are dense but compact. They reach a height of 40 to 60 centimeters. The foliage color is dark green and the size is small. The surface of the leaves is glossy, with an expressive shine. The shoots grow flexible and straight, the color is burgundy-green.

Advantages and disadvantages

Main pluses:

  • rich color of flowers;

  • small size of the bush;

  • a large number of buds.

Disadvantages:

  • lack of aroma;

  • there is no two-color;

  • small flowers.

Flowering features

The variety blooms for a long time - from the first days of summer to the arrival of cold weather (from June to October). The intensity is very profuse. Healthy plants bloom without interruption, delighting with a charming appearance. The flowers are almost perfectly round.

When the bud is fully opened, a crown of bright golden stamens becomes visible. Under the influence of direct sunlight, the color of the petals may become lighter. The shape of the flowers, reminiscent of dahlias, stands out noticeably against the background of other varieties.

Use in landscape design

Due to its high decorative qualities, the amulet rose is often used in landscape design. Experts point out that this is an ideal container or curb plant. The bushes are planted in a row along the paths at a distance of about 35-40 centimeters. And also the variety is great for decorating a terrace, Italian patio, French flower bed or any other living composition. The plant looks great next to other varieties of roses.

Landing

The amulet grows best in flat and sunny areas. If it is not possible to find a suitable location, you can grow the variety in partial shade, but then the flowering will not be so abundant. Rose prefers fertile soil, for example, black soil. Other types of soil will also work if properly prepared. Nutrients are added to the depleted land. If the reaction to acidity is high, lime or other components are added to the soil that lower it.

The area for growing roses should be free of stagnant water, since excessive moisture adversely affects the root system.

Growing and care

Bushes are planted in open ground from April to May. The optimum planting density should not exceed 4-5 plants per square meter. Soil type - drained. For the winter, shrubs cover, despite their high frost resistance (frost resistance zone - 6). Drought tolerance - moderate. The Amulet variety tolerates hot and dry weather without any problems, so the rose will easily take root in a southern climate.

Watering and feeding

Garden plants are often additionally fed. When caring for this variety, organic matter is used, as well as vitamin and mineral fertilizers. Under their influence, rose bushes not only bloom profusely, but also form a strong immunity. Experienced growers recommend feeding the plants at least twice every 14 days. It is also impossible to fertilize roses too often, because an excessive amount of nutrients will become destructive.

The soil around the bushes is fed with complex compounds, which are poured directly onto the ground. Some types of fertilizers need to be dissolved in water prior to application. Liquid dressing alternates with watering. And also plants are sprayed with vitamin supplements.

The variety responds well to organic mulch. It not only saturates the ground around the bush, but also acts as a plant protection from weeds, hypothermia and harmful insects. Mulch can be prepared from manure and soil in a 1 to 2 ratio.

Water the rose twice a week or as needed, depending on weather conditions. One bush consumes from 8 to 10 liters. It is recommended to water the plants in the evening. Water is poured in in small portions so that the soil is moistened moderately. And also the rose reacts positively to spraying. This procedure nourishes the plants with moisture and acts as a prophylaxis against attacks by spider mites, aphids and other pests.
