Rose is a gorgeous flower loved by florists and landscape designers, as it can be used to create incredibly beautiful everyday and festive compositions. The popular variety is the Acapella rose, which can grow in different climatic zones.

Breeding history of the variety

Acapella is a representative of the hybrid tea variety, bred by a group of German breeders on the basis of the Rosen-Tantau nursery in 1994. The official breeder of the pink variety is Hans Jürgen Ewers. This flower is grown in different regions of Russia, but the shrub develops and opens up to its maximum in areas with a warm climate, where there are mild winters and long summers.

Description of the variety

The hybrid tea rose is a powerful shrub with erect shoots. In favorable conditions, the bushes stretch to a height of 100-110 cm. The plant is characterized by moderate thickening of rather large, dark green leaves with a pronounced gloss, thick shoots growing vertically, and a developed rhizome. Elastic stems are not very abundantly covered with sharp thorns. On each shoot, one large flower forms and blooms. Due to the rapidly growing side branches, the bush looks volumetric - about 50 cm in diameter.

Advantages and disadvantages

This pink variety is famous not only for the visual appeal of flowers, but also for many other advantages - abundant flowering, cold resistance, good tolerance to prolonged heat, strong immunity that protects against fungal diseases, as well as repeated flowering, which allows you to enjoy the beauty of flowers for a long time, and an intense aroma. Among the shortcomings, it is worth pointing out the average resistance to rain, in which the flower petals stick together, and also the fact that the buds open too quickly.

Flowering features

Rosa Acapella belongs to the category of abundant flowering varieties. Flowering is observed over a long period with small interruptions - from early June to late September. A lush, pointed bud appears on the stem, consisting of 50-70 petals, opening gradually, as if in a spiral. The bud is painted silver, diluted with cherry edging.

The blossoming, densely double rose of a cupped shape looks quite voluminous - the diameter of the flower is 10-12 cm. The color of the rose is saturated - cherry red, and on the outside it retains a silvery hue. Under bright sunlight, the color of the flowers practically does not change. When fully opened, the rose emits a pronounced sweet aroma with fruity notes.

Use in landscape design

This German variety is widely used in landscape design. Roses are suitable for single plantings, as well as in combination with other varieties. They are often grown along fences to create beautiful hedges. Tall flowers are ideal for zoning flower beds and front gardens. In addition, the pink variety is often grown for cutting, since the flowers stand in a vase for a long time, preserving their freshness and aroma.

Landing

For planting roses, a leveled and weed-free area is selected, where it is sunny, light and warm. The best option would be an area where it is sunny in the morning and evening hours, and light shade at lunchtime.Landing in lowlands, where water accumulates and it is very cool, is strictly prohibited.

Flowers grow comfortably in light, breathable, organic-rich soils with a neutral acidity level. Chernozems or light loams with a sufficient amount of nutrients will be optimal for growing pink plantings.

Growing and care

Shrubs are planted in April-May, when a stable spring warmth has come. To do this, pits 50-60 cm deep are prepared in a previously prepared area. Drainage from crushed stone or gravel and a layer of fertilizers are laid in the pits. After planting the seedlings, abundant watering is carried out with warm water, and the soil is compacted. The planting procedure is completed by mulching the soil around the seedling with peat.

Agrotechnics of a rose bush consists of basic measures: irrigation with settled water, application of fertilizing, loosening and weeding of the soil, prevention of diseases and sanitary pruning of bushes. In the first year of cultivation, experienced florists recommend removing the buds before early August, which will ensure abundant flowering of the shrub next year.

Watering and feeding

Despite its drought tolerance, the rose needs regular watering, especially during dry and too hot periods. Watering should be done so that the soil layer is 30-40 cm moist. Weekly watering is recommended.

Fertilizers need to be applied twice a season - nitrogen-containing components (in spring) and phosphorus-potassium fertilizers (in autumn).

Pruning

Pruning is done every season. In early spring, all damaged and frozen shoots are removed, and branches are also shortened. In the summer, wilted buds are cut. Mid-autumn is the time for sanitary pruning, when damaged, shriveled and diseased shoots are removed, and, if necessary, light thinning of the bushes is performed.

Frost resistance and preparation for winter

The rose is hardy but requires preparation for the cold season. It is recommended to cover the bushes with foil or agrofiber. In regions where winters are not very harsh, a good mulching with sawdust is sufficient.

Diseases and pests

Due to its strong immunity, the flower is rarely exposed to fungal diseases. High resistance of the culture to powdery mildew and black spot. It is extremely rare for rose bushes to attack aphids, fleas and spider mites.
