The luxurious hybrid tea rose of the Nostalgie series called Admiral attracts attention at first glance with its richness of color, size and slightly old-fashioned shape of the bud. The variety blooms very abundantly and magnificently, for a long time. It is not afraid of being damaged by diseases and pests of horticultural crops.

Breeding history of the variety

The variety was presented in 2017 by the Tantau nursery from Germany. The initial introduction to the culture took place in 2015 under the name Tan11049.

Description of the variety

Admiral rose bushes are tall, with erect shoots 80-120 cm long. The crown is compact, 40-50 cm wide. Leaves are dark green, dense and large, shiny. There are thorns on the stems.

The main color of the flower of this rose is dark red, the buds are almost black, densely colored. The color is saturated. Corollas in shape belong to the old, classical category, have a cup-shaped shape, large size and a diameter of 12-14 cm. The flower itself is densely double, with a large number of tight-fitting petals. The aroma is very strong, but delicate, with hints of ripe pear.

Advantages and disadvantages

Admiral roses have many advantages. Among the most obvious benefits are:

  • high adaptation to drought;

  • very good resistance to rain;

Growing and caring

To grow rose bushes of this variety, partial shade is necessary so that the petals do not bake. The admiral responds well to spraying and sprinkling. It is carried out in the early morning hours or late at night to avoid sunburn on the leaves. Useful for roses of this variety and mulching, which inhibits the growth of weeds.

Watering and feeding

It is recommended to water the bushes 2 times a week in hot weather with warm, settled water. At least 15-20 liters are served under each plant at a time.
