The stability and efficiency of the functioning of the dishwasher (PMM) depends on all units and elements. Valves are very important components of the design, which provide the supply, cutoff of the intake or discharge of water into the PMM. The ability of the dishwasher to execute the set programs depends on the state of these devices, therefore it is necessary to consider them in more detail.

Features of the device

The purpose of any valve in a dishwasher is to pass a predetermined volume of water in a certain direction, and then, at the required moment, shut off its flow. The solenoid valves operate under the control of the control module, which sends a command, after which the valve either opens or closes. Mechanical devices function autonomously, but they are equally useful.

Dishwasher valve types

Manufacturers equip their equipment in different ways, however, as a rule, several types of valves are practiced.

  1. Water supply solenoid valve (also called inlet or fill). Designed to regulate the flow of clean water.

  2. Drain (non-return or anti-siphon) valve. Keeps the drained waste water under control.

  3. Safety valve - AquaStop. Protects against leaks.

  4. Any of them is characterized by design features, is mounted in certain areas, and is replaced according to the established algorithm of actions.

Inlet valve

The water supply valve acts as a shut-off component. The inlet hose is connected to it, which is under mains pressure.

The mission of the device includes timely opening to fill the unit with the required volume of water and closing when the required level is reached.

Externally, the water supply solenoid valve looks like a plastic body, bent at an angle of 90 °. One end is connected to the inlet hose, and the branch is equipped with contacts for the terminal block. It belongs to the category of electromagnetic shut-off components.

A shutter and solenoids are located inside the device. When a command is received from the control module, the solenoids move the damper to the "open" or "closed" position, ensuring the flow or cutoff of water.

Check valve

This is an anti-siphon element, which has a relatively ingenuous, as it may seem, structure, but its significance in the entire system is very great. Usually, dishwasher manufacturers install this element at the beginning of the drain hose.

During the operation of the pump, the pressure of the pumped out contaminated water is created into the sewer network. At this time, the anti-siphon valve functions to pass the contaminated water in the direction of the drain. After turning off the drain pump, it completely blocks the drain channel.

If suddenly a situation arises when liquid waste from the sewer network goes in the opposite direction, then the drain valve will reliably block the path to the dishwasher. Whatever happens in the sewer system, this device will protect the dishwasher from liquid waste getting into it.

Individual users who install dishwashers with their own hands have neglected this device, and have already greatly regretted it. When a blockage appeared in the sewer network, all its contents penetrated into the dishwasher and ended up on the washed dishes.

AquaStop valve

This device is part of the AquaStop system. The AquaStop dishwasher valve serves as a safety elementthat prevents liquid leakage in the event of an unforeseen problem, such as a breakdown of the water supply hose. If you have the required tools, you can purchase and change it yourself, but when you do not have practical experience in performing this type of work, you should call a specialist.

Attention! If there are signs of valve breakage, the device is replaced, since the restoration of this element is not carried out. The work is simple and can be done on your own, but if the machine is under warranty, you must invite a master from the service center.

How to choose?

Spare parts for a dishwasher that is out of order must be purchased exclusively original - strictly according to the modification and brand. There are a lot of low-quality parts that will not last long. When the required spare part is not possible to buy, it is necessary to decipher the marking, individual spare parts are interchangeable.

In parallel with the details, it is advisable to purchase consumables. It is best to pay a high price for the device than to have it repaired regularly.

Recommendation! Do not look for replica valves (or, in other words, analogs) - they may not fit a particular dishwasher modification.

How to increase the service life?

The property of parts, assemblies - to keep the dishwasher in good working order as long as possible. However, it is subject to conditions of use, which may not be acceptable. This significantly reduces the operating time of the unit.

Some measures can help extend the life.

  1. The use of a device for water purification (filter). Rust, small particles fill the internal space of the valve and prevent the water from closing.

  2. Installation of an apartment water pressure regulator. Excessive loading at the inlet favors early breakdown of not only valves, but also other devices.

  3. The use of a voltage stabilizer. This is a general principle that makes it possible to protect not only the valves, but also all the electronic devices of the dishwasher.

Most dishwasher owners ignore these tips, but the consequence is only a decrease in the duration of use.
